Makeup Portfolio Shoot

What a fun whirlwind of a day at the studio!  We did a before-and-after portfolio shoot for Mary.  Check out her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/whattagirlwants

Mary is a true professional and her makeup application was so refined.... not to mention that it photographed amazingly well.  And she brought such a positive energy into the studio.

We meet Mary through an organization called Ladies Lunch NJ.  Ladies Lunch NJ is a group of motivated and driven business woman who gather several times a month to network.  And speaking of Ladies Lunch NJ, many of our models for this shoot were from this group.  So of course the company alone made for a stimulating day.

Check out a couple of these business beauties...

Bettina Rago from Beauty & the Cupcake ....  AMAZING WOMAN, AMAZING CUPCAKES!!!!

Dolores Yanez-Rilho of Hallmark Realtors...  HOW GORGEOUS IS SHE?!?

Ok off to go polish up more pictures for our beautiful Oola girls....

I want to do it again!

I can't wait to do another session... for myself!  In my everyday life, I am a mom to two little girls, a wife, a dog walker, a housekeeper, etc.  I live in my mom jeans and Old Navy™ blouses.  I would love to be an everyday fashionista trekking through life in a little black dress and stilettos.  I even know a few of these woman and truly envy their dedication.  I don't have the energy or commitment to pull off the everyday glamour, but I still want to feel sexy!

Dana and I did a photo shoot last year for each other and it was an unforgettable experience.  I cleaned myself up with mani/pedi, hair, and makeup.  Bought a few pieces of nice lingerie, shoes and accessories.  And then stepped in front of the camera... OMG STEP IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA HALF NEKKID!!! What the hell was I thinking!  I'm not 20 anymore!  I'm heavier than I've ever been!  I have  stretch marks, cellulite, WRINKLES! Ok that thought (moment of panic) was thankfully short-lived and quickly forgotten.  I had a blast!  I left the shoot high on life.  Then I saw the pictures... WOW!  This mom IS sexy.  And now empowered and more confidant than ever.

So now I'm starting to get psyched to do it again. With our summer booking up quickly, I think I will plan for September-ish.  Maybe a birthday present... for myself. Yay!

With all this planning I've been inspired to start my search for lingerie and accessories. And since I know some of you are planning your session why not post some of my finds through the summer.

In fact, is there anyone out there that would like to do a guest blog and post some of your finds?

In my search for inspiration, I stumbled upon a unique lingerie and swimwear designer @ www.undrest.com.  And I really like these.

Have any suggestions for the perfect finishing touches for this look?

Stunningly Stephanie

We told you that Stephanie was the common denominator when it came to the two of us meeting and melding our creative minds. So we showed our appreciation with a fun-filled private day of shooting at the studio. Stephanie was a natural in front of the camera.

Check it out yourself...

We spent a lot of time in the warehouse area of the building. We just love the color and textures of the 3rd floor with it's urban decay chic.

We had a great time Stephanie! Thanks for everything.

Let us know what you'd like to see! A Giveaway maybe??

A Dynamic Duo - Dana & Suzie

We are excited to announce our new partnership in our new studio!  A lot of you already know this.  But We thought we would fill you in on how this all happened...

It’s been a fun year since we met at a toddler’s party thrown by our mutual friend, Stephanie (You rock Steph!)

But when it really kicked off was back in April when we collaborated on a boudoir photo shoot… for each other.  So there we were, both in lingerie running around the studio, both of us playing the part of the photographer and model.  We barely knew each other, yet we were able to be comfortable and at ease.  We worked together really well and the whole thing went off without a hitch.  We were able to keep it all under the hubby-radar and boy were they surprised when we gave them albums from the shoot as anniversary gifts.

So that’s us in a nutshell…

OK, well maybe a little less ;)

In the last year we have done a few trips into the city for software and editing workshops and training with former playboy editor, Christine Wolfe…and with each trip concluding with the oh-so-important chicken and rice run.   Man that stuff is good!

We think we make a fabulous team and that great things will result of our partnership.  Check this video of a recent shoot and tell us if you think the same.
